BELLY DANCE, TRAVEL TO KIAWAH ISLAND OR DECORATE CUPCAKES TO PREVENT HOMELESSNESS IN THE SIOUX EMPIRE

Sioux Falls, SD (November 1, 2010)—Just in time for Christmas, The Community Outreach is hosting an on-line auction at www.thecommunityoutreach.org November 1, 2010 through December 15, 2010 to raise monies to prevent homelessness in the Sioux Empire.

Bidders can log on and select items and experiences that range from learning how to belly dance from Sanaa after selecting a scarf at Rug & Relic, to traveling to South Carolina to experience the majestic Kiawah Island Resort and golf courses to hosting a cupcake decorating party for 20 at Oh My Cupcake!

Those who prefer to share an experience with another may choose to bid on golfing at Willow Run with Father Haggerty of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, watching Phil Schreck of KSFY remove snow from your driveway or having coffee with Stephanie Herseth Sandlin (D-SD).

Parents wanting to gift their children with a memory rather than a toy for Christmas will want to bid on the cheerleading camp, the KOA campground party and overnight stay, a zoo-themed party for 12, the Rainy Lake, MN houseboat trip, the McCrossan Boys Ranch party for children, the USD basketball post-practice shoot-around or a host of other child-friendly experiences.

For those wishing to give to others for Christmas they may do so by purchasing utility or rent vouchers to keep their fellow citizens in a heated home this holiday season.

The Community Outreach is a 30 year old ecumenical agency that connects those in need with those who want to help with financial assistance, referrals and education. It offers mentorship to families in need through the Genesis and Project Jump Start programs and has served the Sioux Empire working poor for over 30 years.

More information is available at www.thecommunityoutreach.org or by calling Sean Salyer at 605-331-3935.
