Christmas for a Cause a Big Success

On December 12th, hundreds of people from the community joined together at the Orpheum Theater in Downtown Sioux Falls to support those in need in at the third annual Christmas for a Cause Fundraiser! Concert-goers were treated to The Browns’ spectacular Christmas performance, Christmas Joy. Together, the community was able to raise nearly $19,000 for The Community Outreach! We are so thankful for those who came to celebrate and make this night something special.

The highlight of the night came as a surprise to all attendees. Sometime during the evening reception, an anonymous donor slipped an envelope into the hand of a ministry board member. Before we had a chance to see what the tiny package contained, the mysterious donor had left the building. Inside, was a golden coin worth over $1,200 and a message saying that this was the second of such gift given during the Christmas Season. The first coin had appeared a few weeks earlier at the Center of Hope’s bike shop.

Along with the news of the anonymous gift, members of the board and staff of The Community Outreach were able to address the crowd during the intermission of Christmas Joy. Concert-goers contributed nearly $1,000 in a free will offering to support the missions of the ministry!

The Browns rocked the house all night long with their versions of Christmas favorites in their own unique Branson style. Please check out their website for video of their performance! You can also view photos of the evening on The Community Outreach’s Facebook page by clicking here!

Thank you to all who attended and supported us at this event! We also want to give a very special thank you to our sponsors:  Avera, JDS Industries, Lloyd Companies, Availability Employment Services, Eide Bailly, First National Bank in Sioux Falls, The Journey Group, O’Connor Company, Costello Property Management, and Beirschbach Equipment and Supply. Even though 2015 has barely begun, we are looking forward to this coming December and the next Christmas for a Cause!
