Housing Assistance and Utility Cut-off Prevention
Because we seek to ‘fill the gaps’ in available government assistance, people needing emergency assistance must first seek assistance from the Minnehaha Department of Human Services at 521 North Main Avenue. Please refer to the Flow Chart link and follow the process of seeking assistance. When public resources cannot meet the need, our housing and utility assistance programs strive to assist with rent and first month’s deposit or utility shut-offs (when funds are available and clients meet requirements of assistance).
Transportation
Bus passes and gas vouchers are issued to those enrolled with the Department of Labor’s Career Services and are actively seeking jobs.
