CHURCH PARTNERSHIPS

In 1978, we were founded by the churches of Sioux Falls.  We now strive to serve as an outreach arm of every church in the Sioux Falls area. We desire to work closely with church leaders as they care for people with financial needs in their congregation and community. We are blessed to partner with more than 45 churches.

We support churches by

  • Navigating community resources

  • Responding to church leaders’ questions about how to care for a family’s needs

  • Accepting referrals to gather information and provide financial assistance when appropriate.

Our church partners care for us in many critical ways:

  • Prayer

  • Awareness of the needs of the community and our services

  • Financial support

  • Creating opportunities for our staff to share about what God is doing at The Community Outreach with their church

  • Encouraging people in the church to volunteer

  • Local pastors serve on our Board of Directors.

ASSISTING WITH YOUR BENEVOLENCE FUND

We are here to support the work of your church.

We are available to administer your church’s benevolence or deacon’s fund. The church has control of the funds, and our trained personnel and procedures handle the process. Here’s how it works:

  • Your church refers the client to us.

  • The client comes to an appointment. In that appointment, a caseworker completes an in-depth interview to understand the needs of the client.

  • We make a recommendation to the church leader responsible for the funds and disperse them upon their approval.  

We have two examples of how congregations are currently partnering with us in this area:

The church reimburses The Community Outreach.

The Community Outreach manages the church’s benevolence fund.

We know each church is different, and we are able to make adjustments to meet your leadership’s needs.
